Code of Conduct

International Forum for Sustainable Futures

The International Forum for Sustainable Futures is committed to creating a safe, inclusive, and empowering environment for all participants. This Code of Conduct outlines the standards of behavior expected from everyone involved—attendees, speakers, partners, volunteers, and organizers.

Guiding Principles

  • Respect & Dignity: Treat all participants with kindness, fairness, and respect, regardless of background, identity, or perspective.
  • Inclusivity: Celebrate diversity of thought, culture, and experience. Ensure that all voices—especially those of youth, marginalized communities, and underrepresented groups—are heard and valued.
  • Collaboration: Engage in constructive dialogue, seek common ground, and work together toward shared solutions.
  • Integrity: Uphold honesty, transparency, and accountability in all interactions.
  • Sustainability: Model environmentally responsible practices throughout the event.

Expected Behavior

  • Listen actively and allow space for others to contribute.
  • Use respectful language; avoid discriminatory, offensive, or harmful remarks.
  • Honor time limits and guidelines during sessions to ensure fairness.
  • Support the Forum’s mission by aligning discussions with sustainability, equity, and justice.
  • Practice responsible resource use (reduce waste, conserve energy, minimize environmental footprint).

Unacceptable Behavior

  • Harassment, discrimination, or intimidation of any kind.
  • Sexual harassment in any form — including unwelcome sexual advances, inappropriate comments, unwanted physical contact, or any behavior that creates a hostile or unsafe environment.
  • Disruptive conduct that undermines sessions or prevents others from participating.
  • Sharing false or misleading information that harms the integrity of the Forum.
  • Any form of violence, exploitation, or unsafe behavior.

Accountability & Reporting

  • Participants who violate this Code of Conduct may be asked to leave sessions or the event.
  • Concerns, including incidents of harassment or sexual misconduct, can be reported confidentially to the organizing team.
  • Organizers will take appropriate action to protect the safety and integrity of the Forum, including investigation and sanctions where necessary.

Commitment to the Future

This Forum is aligned with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and recognizes the urgency of addressing current global issues—climate change, biodiversity loss, inequality, health crises, and geopolitical instability. By joining, participants commit to advancing these goals through respectful dialogue, collaborative action, and shared responsibility.
